Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (40g)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (11g)
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cups pecan halves (250g)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F and set an oven rack in the middle position. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mat.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, olive oil, salt, cayenne pepper, and ground cinnamon.
Add the pecans to the maple mixture and stir until the nuts are evenly coated.
Transfer the pecans to the prepared baking sheet and arrange in a single layer. Scrape out every bit of glaze from the bowl and drizzle over the nuts. Bake for 10- 12 minutes, until the pecans are caramelized. The nuts around the edges will darken first so you can turn the baking sheet around halfway through the baking time.
Once baked, bring it out of the oven and allow the pecans to cool completely. Remove the pecans from the parchment or silicone mat, breaking apart any clusters if necessary, and store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
